Red Velvet Cupcakery - http://www.redvelvetcupcakery.com/

This cupcake spot's main location is somewhere closer to Georgetown, but they sell some cupcakes in this funky frozen yogurt shop on P and 21st in NW D.C.. It was $3 for a cupcake, and I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. I tried the Red Velvet, Expresso, and Peanut Butter. Trust me when I say that I'm a Red Velvet girl through and through, but the Peanut Butter was the only saving grace for the Red Velvet Cupcakery. (AllCupcakeLoversGoToHeaven)

Double disappointment! We also hit this cupcake spot with high hopes. The Red Velvet, of course, birthday cake (yellow/chocolate frosting) and lemon/coconut. They were just ok and like DOn said for $3 a piece, he was looking for $2.50 in change! The search continues...(Baking Queen)

Tracy picked these up for a second try. We had the lemon and chocolate peanut butter. Both were very yummy and worth the $3. I think the trick for the cupcakes is to let them come to room temperature before delving in. A lot of these places keep them cold (as I was told by the nice men at "Cake Love".)

I stumbled on this place at the Tyson's Corner mall in Virginia. What a great idea! It was just what I needed to keep my buying spree keep going. Apparently there are eight locations around the DC-VA-MD area and if you can find one, get something because it's all good! They are pricey ($3.50) but worth it.

Bill had the Salted Caramel and I tried the Banana Split. They were AMAZING! Not only was the frosting good and not too sweet, but the cake was moist and flavorful. Mine tasted like - you guessed it - banana bread and Bill's had just a hint of caramel. The banana slit was topped off with a whipped cream and strawberry frosting with a few salted peanuts. The caramel was topped with a lightly frosting, caramel sauce, and some sea salt.
